Stuck

Arcturius's pod crashed into the ground next to a crater made by Almira. He got out, dizzy, and propped himself on a tree.

Almira burst out of the space pod, restless from staying still for so long. She noticed the craters and felt the unmistakable feeling of DOOM. "Arc! We're in really big trouble!" She said when she found him next to a tree. "Also, you might want to move. That snake is going to bite you."

Arcturius looked right at the snake. "Oh, hello, there." He bowed at it and stepped to the side. "What's wrong, Almira?"

She pointed at the craters. "Greater Grandfather is going to KILL US!"

The snake was satisfied and slithered away.

"More like Crater Grandfather," he laughed. He cleared his throat, "Sorry." Arcturius frowned, "If only I were a Roman Nebulae. They specialize in materializing things. Could fill this right up."

"I hope I doesn't send me back to basic training! Goddess knows how much I hate it!" She sighed. "Well, we're most likely going to get ambushed by my brothers on the way there, if not by another clan. Let's go."

Arcturius hummed to himself as he followed Almira.

Almira looked miserable for awhile then perked up after accepting it. "Alright when we get there, please refrain from attacking my siblings. No matter how annoying they may be at times."

"Only child," Arc said. "When you're practically immortal, your species tends to hardly breed." He nodded, "But don't worry."

She was about to say something he would have to remember when several orange blurs sent her crashing into the bushes. The sounds of laughter followed.

Arcturius blinked, "What just... Almira?" He pulled his hands from inside his cloak and pointed his palms into the bushes, shining light from his energy. "Your family?"

"Not all of them, just a few brothers." One of them yanked on her tail too hard. "Ow! Torcall! Stop that!" Suddenly she narrowed her eyes. "Wait, where's Thundex?"

A large reddish figure appeared behind Arc. Unlike the rest of them, he actually had a fur. He set a large paw on his shoulder. "Here."

"Oh, hello!" Arcturius turned his head and beamed in enthusiasm. "Lovely to meet you!"

Almira managed to get away. She walked up to Thundex and shoved him playfully. "Okay, you have to stop doing that. All of you."

Thundex smiled. "Same. Should we escort you the rest of the way?"

"Sounds like a plan." Arcturius took out a scroll of parchment and a quill, held the former against a tree, and wrote down that he has now visited this planet. He stuffed it back into his cloak, "After you."

He took lead.

Almira tackled him. "No way! I'll take over!" She looked at Arc. "We can only visit for a little bit if we still want to make it in time to see the sights." She lead them the rest of the way there. "Alright, this is it!"

Arcturius looked out upon the scene. "Wow, that's..." he described it as it was. "It's really..." he talked about how it looked. "Hmm."

She punched him lightly. "This isn't it, knucklehead! You know what? Why don't we come back later and go see something really nice?" Almira said happily, wanting to show him the planet.

"Alright," Arcturius agreed, letting Almira lead him away from the highly descriptive thing in front of him.

Almira led him to a river flowed many bright colors, making it look like scrambled up liquid rainbow. She leaned over the edge and stuck her hand in the cold water. "Look! How do you think this happens?" She asked excitedly.

"Pollution," Arc joked. "Phosphorescence?" He shrugged.

She blinked. "I would have eliminated any pollution on the planet already. Nope. It's not the water that's colorful, it's the moss. See, right now we're in the brief time between wet and dry season. The water level dips and the sun makes just enough light to change the color." She dipped the tip of her tail in. "The water stays crystal-clear year round."

Arcturius nodded, looking down at the water. "I see." He cleared his throat, "Pretty."

"You don't like it?" She asked.

Arcturius blinked, "What? No. It's lovely." He smiled.
